Rain delay -

The Pocono 500 has been postponed until Monday, June 19, at 10:00 pm ET. It will be aired live on TNN.

Race -

It was an up and down day for the #24 crew. They started toward the front, but backslid during the first part of the race. However, a good pitstop by the Rainbow Warriors moved Gordon up five positions to 13th. That is where Gordon stayed for most of the race, around tenth to fifteenth place. Then in the last few laps, Gordon made a charge to the front, getting up to 9th. Ward Burton, who was in eighth, got into the wall right in front of Gordon. Gordon was not affected by the accident, and went on to finish the race in eighth place. He is still in tenth place in the Winston Cup Standings.

Jeremy Mayfield won the race with a great last lap move on Dale Earnhardt. Dale Jarrett and Ricky Rudd finished second and third.
